Frequently Asked Questions

  • The pies speak for themselves. They are AMAZING. The pumpkin pie recipe has been handed down in my family through 4 generations - so it’s an heirloom at this point. :) Anyhow, yes you can do a special order. The best way to special order is through email. My email is: anne@sweetiesdough.com. It’s also listed under my contacts page. In addition to special orders, I will have a limited number of openings for baked pies during Holiday weeks (ie. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc) so when you see those offered on Instagram, make sure and order ASAP to ensure you (and your family and guests) get a spot.

  • Yes. This is important so I’m glad you asked. You can store it in the original box in the refrigerator. That’s ideal. But I know when you’re hosting events, refrigerator space is at a premium. So other ideas are to place the pie in a cool room in your basement (think storage room, wine cellar, etc) or a good old Midwest trick is to keep it covered and place it in your garage. ;) The only thing about placing it in your garage is, it may freeze, so watch the temperature carefully. The last thing you want is an amazing pie to go to waste.

  • Great question. The thawing of the pie dough is actually the most important part to use it successfully. You can thaw your pie dough over night in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours or you can thaw your pie dough at room temperature for 1-2 hours. Both thawing methods are effective, but just make sure your pie dough is COLD when you go to roll it out.

  • The quick answer: anything and everything that requires pie dough. The long answer: any desert pie, or galette, or pot pie you can think of. Our favorite uses are my homemade apple and pumpkin pie (available via special order), my homemade peach pie (coming available in 2022), chicken pot pie, and this blueberry galette. If you find other uses that are yummy, please share!

  • Yes we do. We currently ship to the continental United States. We ship UPS second day air. The weight of the box and the fast shipping required for frozen/chilled items drives the cost of shipping.

  • We always recommend freezing your cookie dough. Frozen sealed cookie dough will last in your freezer up to a year, because our product is vacuum sealed, which prevents freezer burn. If you know you will be baking your cookies within a couple days, you can store them in your refrigerator. Cookie dough will keep for up to a week in your refrigerator.

  • Very important question. Baking the cookie dough correctly is the key to eating a delicious cookie. Baking instructions for both types of cookies: preheat oven to 350 degrees, place cookie dough on parchment paper or silicone mat (we prefer parchment paper), bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. If you bake them frozen, the cookies will take longer than if you baked them thawed. See below on baking them frozen vs thawed.

  • Great question! You can bake them either way. We prefer baking ours frozen because that is how we prefer to store our cookie dough. If you bake them frozen, the cookies will take a little longer in the oven than if you bake them thawed. See above for baking instructions.

  • We do not advocate for eating raw cookie dough, although if you live on the wild side, then eat at your own risk.

  • We do all our mixing with nuts, wheat and dairy on the premise. If you have a severe nut, wheat or dairy allergy, we strongly advise against consuming our products. We do not promote eating raw cookie dough.
